This page explains what SoPlayer IPTV ("we", "our", "us") records about you when you use the website and the streaming service (together, the "Service"), why we record it, and who else ever sees it. Using the Service means accepting what is set out here.
1. What we record
What you hand us directly
Opening an account, buying a plan or writing to support can involve giving us:
- Your name and email address
- Payment details, which are handled by our payment providers rather than stored by us
- Whatever you write in a message to us
None of this is compulsory, but parts of the Service cannot work without it — we cannot email an activation code to an address we do not have.
What the servers log on their own
Visiting the site produces the ordinary technical record any web server keeps:
- Your IP address, and the rough region it maps to
- Which browser and operating system you are on
- Which pages you opened, for how long, and what linked you here
- Device identifiers and screen size
This arrives through cookies, server logs and similar means.
2. What we do with it
We use it to:
- Run and maintain the Service
- Take payment and keep your plan current
- Improve how the site and the app behave
- Send you notices that concern your own account
- Send offers, which you can stop at any time — use the unsubscribe link or just tell us
- Answer your support messages and diagnose faults
- Understand which parts of the Service are used and which are not
- Spot and deal with fraud, abuse and security incidents
- Meet legal obligations that apply to us
3. Who else sees it
We do not sell your personal information, to anyone, at any price. It leaves us in three situations only:
Suppliers who work for us
Payment processing, email delivery and analytics are handled by outside suppliers, so those suppliers necessarily see the part of your data their job requires. Each is under contract to keep it confidential and to use it only for the work we have asked them to do.
When the law requires it
A court order, a subpoena or an equivalent valid demand from a public authority obliges us to hand over what is asked for. We may also disclose where it is genuinely necessary to protect someone's safety, defend our own legal rights, or investigate fraud.
If the business changes hands
A sale, merger or insolvency could move customer records to whoever takes the business on. If that happens you will be told before your data comes under a different privacy policy.
4. Cookies
Cookies are small files the site leaves on your device. Ours remember your settings, keep you signed in between visits, and tell us in aggregate which pages get used.
Every browser lets you refuse or delete them, and its own help pages explain how. Turning them off is your right, but some of the site will stop working properly if you do.
5. How it is protected
Data in transit is encrypted, access to it is restricted to staff who need it, and we review those arrangements regularly.
We will not claim more than that. No system carrying data across the internet is perfectly secure, and anyone who promises you otherwise is overselling.
6. What you can ask us to do
Which of these you can enforce depends on where you live, but we will honour all of them regardless:
- Access: Ask for a copy of what we hold about you.
- Correction: Have anything wrong or incomplete put right.
- Deletion: Have your data deleted, except where the law requires us to keep a record.
- Opt-Out: Stop marketing email, at any time, without giving a reason.
- Data Portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable file.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at help@soplayeriptv.com. One email is enough to start any of these, and we will not ask you why.
7. Links off this site
Some pages link out — to Amazon's Fire TV help, for instance. Once you follow a link you are on someone else's site under someone else's policy, and we have neither control over it nor responsibility for it.
8. Under 18s
The Service is not for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly hold data about children. If you think we have some, tell us and we will delete it promptly.
9. If this policy changes
This policy can change when our practices, the law or our suppliers do. Anything significant moves the "Effective Date" at the top of the page, which is the quickest way to tell whether you are reading the same version you agreed to. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the revised policy.
10. The other legal pages
This page sits alongside three others, and they are meant to be read together:
